Fresh View

Imagine when you were a child, I mean really young. “How does that work? What does it do? Why?” Eyes widen at the sight of a furry puppy. It really is the simpler things that seem so wonderful to young ones. It is something that takes allot of work for adults or teenagers to even notice. Things we might take for granted are quite glorious to fresh eyes.

Thinking creatively most definitely demands a fresh view. Having a clear mind, able to think through problems without using the overused, is tough for humans, because our brains are pattern recognition intensive. So, naturally, we want to achieve the same solution for a similar problem. The inspiration, however, is mostly found in the small details that can be easily overlooked.

I enjoy slowing down. Pause, and look at the surroundings. Smell the roses. Stare at the clouds. Look at your reflection in a lake or pond. All the information that is provided for designers inspiration is great. At times it isn’t good enough. Unload the information overload. Clear the mind, and get a fresh view.
