The Human Experience
For many designers, inspiration and creativity are at the core of what they do. In contrast to a fine artist, designers work with their ideas with a different final goal. Inspiration and creativity shape those ideas into a final product.
We all have a different perspective and, therefore, a different creative process. I get my inspiration from the many experiences in every day. It may not be just visual inspiration. Sounds create pictures in the mind’s eye, as do smells. Look at ordinary things in an unusual way. Drive home using unfamiliar roads (when not in a hurry, of course), and take in the surroundings. Basically, dive into life. Don’t just be a passenger, experience it first-hand.
This article, like all others, was inspired by something; in particular, it was motivated by Nodes of Design Inspiration by Cameron Moll, and my imagination.
