Branding is everywhere. International tourist destinations are branding themselves too. Hong Kong has a well done logo that captures the orient vibe. One of the identities that really interested me was the Bahamas newly formed identity.
Colorful, To Say The Least
Although it could translate well into a one or two color design, the Bahamas’ logo definitely screams variety in its color selection. Its uses of varying colors and shapes really tells a story. The Bahamas are made up of more than 400 individual islands, thus the variation in color and shapes. The form the group of shapes makes resembles that of the group of islands.
I’m sure the designers working on the logo also wanted to convey a variety of activities. Suggesting that a location has “something for everyone” is not the best margin of difference, but many marketers seem to use it, possibly as a last resort (no pun intended).
Taking a bold presence among other logos, the Bahamas’ logo is something different; it’s a refreshing breeze of ocean air.
