After not showing off any work for a while, I am now trying to walk
the walk. This is my poster submission for the Speak
Up poster design contest. It’s probably too late to start a submission of
your own, but you could be very fast, so give it a try.

Check out the larger
image of my poster design.

“I Hate The Term ‘Creative’”

I wanted to make the illustration fun yet appropriate for the quote I chose.
The spot colors I chose help reflect a youthful and vibrant tone of the message.
I translated the quote basically into, “it’s not rocket science, folks!”

If you have any questions as to my intent, let me know. Please tell me what
you think about it, good, bad, or indifferent.

Oh, and if you do like it vote at Speak
Up (to commence in a couple of days I’m guessing) or vote for another you
do like. Speak Up and Speak Graphically.

We read all this talk about design; talk, talk, talk. Don’t get me wrong I
like the talk. But does everyone walk the walk, so to speak. Cameron
Moll gives us a look at some of his work, discusses it, and asks for critiques.
Ryan Sims shows off his gorgeous
sites every so often.

What have I done? Nothing in regards showing off a project.
So in anticipation of completing a project I would like to provide a sneak peak
at what it is that I’m working on.

The project is a poster design, specifically one to enter in to the Speak Up:
Poster Design Contest– thus my reason for not displaying it in its entirety
until I have submitted it. I’m not the worlds greatest illustrator, and I don’t
really draw for fun, just when I have to, but I’m really optimistic with the
concept I have come up with. A 2-color poster has its limitations, but as far
as creativity goes, posters leave the world at your disposal.

I will have the final poster design up a week from Monday. In the meantime,
what projects have you been working on?

Disney’s Alien Encounter Desktop Wallpaper

Welcome to the universe of XS-Tech.

I enjoy Disney design and imagination, so I created the alien encounter
desktop wallpaper to share with everyone. Feel free to download it
by right-clicking, save picture as, save it somewhere you can find
it , and load it in your desktop preferences.

If you enjoy this wallpaper and want to make some changes, let
me know and I will give you the layered xs.psd. It has been designed
for 1024 x 768. The psd is 300 pixles per inch for future use in
print or enlargement.
